Uneeda Pearl Duncan, 57, of Straight Fork Road, died February 4, 1997, at the Scott County Hospital. Born May 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joe Delus and Florence Lowe Lawson. In addition to her father, she was preceded also in death by her husband, T.J. Duncan; two brothers, Artemus and Clarence Lawson; and one sister, Bessie Phillips. She was a member of Norma Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters: Abigail Newport and husband, Dallas of the Capital Hill community; and Linda Newport and husband, James of the Straight Fork community; two sons: Lonnie Duncan and wife, Melinda of Norma; and Justin Duncan and wife, Barbara of the Capital Hill community; her mother, Florence Lawson of Jacksboro; grandchildren: Eric Newport, Amie and Billy Hill, Jamie Newport, and Canaan Duncan; brothers and sisters: Mildred Otter and Samuel Thomas, both of Indiana; Wilma Ann Bailey of Kentucky; Jennifer Boshears of the Fairview community; J.L. Lawson and Harold Dean Lawson, both of Norma; Alonzo Lawson, and Arlene West, both of Helenwood, and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted February 6, 1997, at the Norma Baptist Church with Revs. James Pennington and Carlie Duncan officiating. The New Country Gospel Singers sang.
