Marshall - Ted Eugene Tipton, 69, of Elliot Drive, Marshall, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008.
Mr. Tipton was born November 8, 1938 in Madison County where he had lived all of his life. He was formerly employed by Square D as a Tool and Dye Maker and he was a veteran of the US Army. Ted was the son of Armintha Waldroup Tipton of Marshall and the late Monroe Tipton.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Dorothy Hensley Tipton of the home, a daughter, Melissa Shook (Mark) of Marshall, step-sons, Keith Davis of Calif., Scott Davis of Morganton and Sidney Davis of Leicester, sisters, Patsy Kuykendall and Judy Rigsby of Asheville and Hilda Cody of Marshall, brothers, Bobby and Ronnie Tipton of Marshall and Doug Tipton of Asheville, two grandchildren, Justin and Cody Shook of Marshall, seven stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Rev. Vince Whitt officiating. Burial will be in the Henderson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service.
