Goerge Ackerman, 44, of Keyport, died at the Monmouth Memorial Hospital, Long Branch, Sunday following an illness of several months. Mr. Ackerman had been in business at Keyport for many years, more recently as proprietor of the Auto Supply store.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. George Ackerman; a sister, Mrs Walter Everdell, and a brother, Percy Ackerman.
Funeral services were held yesterday from the home of his sister. Rev. W.R. Rossell, pastor of First Baptist church , officiated and interment was in Green Grove Cemetery.

George W. Ackerman, 44, of 145 Osborn St., Keyport, died early Sunday morning. May 7, 1939, in the Monmouth Memorial Hospital, Long Branch, to which institution he had been admitted Apr. 14, as a medical patient. Mr. Ackerman had not been well for the past year, but previous to his removal to the institution where he died, he was thought to be improving.
He was born in Keyport, the son of Mrs. Mary (Kelley) Ackerman and the late George W. Ackerman Sr., and had lived in the boro all his life. His mother was born in New York and his father in Keyport.

For the past 10 years he conducted an auto accessory business at 47 W. Front St., Keyport, previous to which time he had been engaged with his brother in an automobile sales agency and in the trucking business. Woodworking was Mr. Ackerman's hobby and he made many beautiful pieces of furniture in his leisure time.

Surviving besides his mother are a sister, Mabel (Mrs. Walter) Everdell of Osborn St. and his brother, Percy of S. Main St., both in Keyport.

Services were conducted yesterday afternoon from the Everdell residence at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. William R. Rossell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Keyport, officiating. George W. Porter sang a hymn.
Interment was made in Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport, under the direction of the Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport.
Bearers were Fred Fowler, Frank Walling, Charles Hopla, Walter Brand, Anthony Granata and Michael Collins.
