Mrs. Brenda Renee Boyd-Johnson was born July 16, 1960 in Greenville, Mississippi to Tella McCline and Pete Taylor. She passed away Friday, November 1, 2019. Age 59 years.
Brenda spent her childhood and teenage years in Greenville. It was in Mississippi that she met a young man that would later become her husband and so much more. What started as a friendship grew into a love affair, and then a marriage, filled with children, love, joy and happiness. She decided to travel north to Saginaw, Michigan with Larney Kim Johnson and the two journeyed through life together for many years.
Brenda was a spiritual woman. A woman of faith, prayer and purpose. She was a member of Refuge Center Ministries under the leadership of Pastor George Mushatt and she loved her church family dearly. She was a natural born nurturer and giver. Healthcare was the perfect career choice for her and she enjoyed nursing school and her career therafter. Taking care of others was not just a job to her but it was ministry. She helped everyone that she could without question or complaint.
Brenda was the center of her family. She was their everything. She loved her children like only a mother can. Her grandchildren brought her such joy. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends with cookouts and hanging out at the Boom Boom Room. Brenda will be definitely be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her son, Lamarkas Boyd; parents, Tella McCline and Pete Taylor; sister, Shirley Toliver; father-in-law, Larney Johnson Sr.; friends, Patricia Hamilton and Alesha Lee.
