Joseph Francis Seward was born on April 18th, 1941, in Albany, New York, to Gladys and Robert Seward and was one of seven children. He attended Catholic schools. After graduating from Cardinal McCloskey High School he worked at Albany Public Markets.

Joseph was drafted into the United States Army in 1965. After basic training he was the only one out of all the new recruits to be stationed in Hawaii. The rest were sent to Vietnam. While stationed at Schofield Barracks, Joe worked as a military police.

Shortly after serving in the military, Joe began working at Longs Drugs Store, where he served as store manager at various locations. Joe was kind and respectful to all. He loved the people he worked with. He enjoyed golfing with friends and spending time with family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Joseph is survived by his wife Karen (Dobashi) Seward; son, Lawrence Seward (Laura Margulies); grandchildren: I'okepa and Kanani; brothers, Robert (Anna Mae), Thomas (Judith), Ernest (Pamela), and Phillip (Sharon); and sister, Mary Beth Warner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews.

Private memorial services were held. Joe's final resting place is the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary.
