He owned and operated Boyd's Appliance Store on West Main Street for 19 years and on Robinson Square for 30 years.
He was a 73-year member of First United Methodist Church, and a member of Robinson Rotary Club and Robinson Masonic lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn; a son, Richard F., of Lebanon; three sisters, Marjorie Moreland of Denver, Miriam Marbry of Bloomington, Ind., and Elizabeth Dispennett of Chillicothe, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
