His dad's name was Joseph C. McCurry and his mother's name was Cora Mae Pittman. Mr. McCurry was a retired construction and roadwork worker. He served in World War II and the SSN was 256-03-6263.
Mr. McCurry was divorced when he died and I am unsure if he ever had any children. My mother, Kathryn Burnes, (his sister) seems to think that he did, but I have not been able to verify this in 50 years.
Most of my life I can remember Uncle Curtis as being disabled and was always in some sort of VA nursing home. When I asked mother what had happened to Curtis, all she knew is that one day he was fine and the next day he was blind and not himself. I think he may have had a stroke at an early age.
07/26/2012 UPDATE: I am now sure that my uncle had at least one child, a son, named Coye McCurry. About a year ago I was on Face Book and I typed in the name Coye McCurry. I almost immediately got a reply. It seems that the only thing Coye knew was the name of the lady that took care of his dad. That lady was my mom. Long story short -- I have a cousin that I never knew I had.
