John was a kind hearted man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He served in Vietnam in the army and returned home to start a career as a welder.
If he wasn't outside working in the yard you could find him playing music or traveling with his wife, Susan. He was in several BlueGrass bands that traveled all over Georgia. He was inducted into the Atlanta Country music hall of fame in 2015. He is survived by his wife, Susan Deavers; his daughter Jenny Shaw (Bruce); his brother Luther Guy Deavers and his sister Louella Stephens.
Luther was preceded in death by his son Michael John Deavers; his brother RL Deavers; his brother James Deavers; his sister Idell Rhodes; his sister Emma Mae Wheeler and his sister Mary Lee Mulky; and his parents, Luther and Amy Deavers.
