NORFOLK David M. Callahan, 85, went to join his loving wife April 13, 2009. David was retired from the civil service after 30 years, and also worked in real estate. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9056 since 1948, and a member of Kiwanis since 1997. David was a very devoted husband and a dedicated community advocate. He gave endless hours to charitable organizations, and enjoyed golfing, dancing and music. David is predeceased by his wife Nellie Callahan. He is survived by one sister Margaret Hutchinson; two brothers James Callahan, and Joseph Callahan and his wife Flori; three sisters in law and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation was held Friday April 17, from 6 to 8PM in Woodlawn Funeral Home. A service was held Saturday at 10AM in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
