FISHKILL
Yolanda Vanca, a resident of Fishkill since 1998, and formerly of Peekskill, died Monday, October 8, 2007, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. She was 78.
Born in Peekskill, on November 18, 1928, she was the daughter of Peter and Poli Dienes Deak. She married William Vanca, who predeceased her in 1989. Mrs. Vanca was the Assistant Secretary at Peekskill Savings Bank. She is survived by her children, Karen S. Borneman and her husband, Ben of Sherman, CT; her son, William P. Vanca and his wife, Cathy of Columbia, SC; and her son, Michael S. Vanca and his wife, Patricia of Fishkill; her sister, Edith Tomlins of Poughkeepsie; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Borneman and Hayley Vanca. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Deak, and her sister, Mary Perry.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday, October 11, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, at 10 a.m. at Fishkill United Methodist Church, Broad Street, Fishkill, with Rev. Peggy Ann Sauerhoff officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, 1033 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
