Patricia Jo (Grindstaff) Byerly (April 11, 1949 - March 2, 2022) passed away on March 2, 2022 at the age of 72. Pat had a great sense of humor and was a caring wife and mother who had many wonderful friends across the state of Texas.
After finishing high school in Fort Worth, Pat went to Howard Payne University in Brownwood where she met her husband of the past 53 years, George. She graduated from Texas Tech University and has been a huge Red Raider fan ever since.
Pat spent 40 years in the Texas education system; 27 of those as a teacher. She was extremely devoted to her family… they were her greatest love. Pat most enjoyed spending time with them and watching her grandsons play sports. She enjoyed listening to good music, gardening, starting the day with a cup of coffee, and finishing the evening with a glass of red wine.
Pat was preceeded in death by her parents, Isaac and Lucille Grindstaff, and her sisters, Wanda Hopper and Judy Grindstaff.
She is survived by her husband, George Byerly; son Chet Byerly and his wife Amber; son, Marc Byerly and Christy Byerly; grandsons, Boston, Hagen, Weston, Jack, and Justin; brothers, Dan Grindstaff and Don Grindstaff; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
