Hugh William Able, Jr., age 87, of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on April 6, 2022. Mr. Able was born on June 22, 1934, in Louisville, KY to the late Hugh William, Sr. and Margaret (Yeager) Able. Mr. Able retired from General Electric and was a Catholic by faith. He was a Coast Guard veteran serving for 14 years. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, and son, Eric Able. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 70 years, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
