PICKENS, SC - Franklin Lee Burgess, 90, of Pleasant Grove community, Route 3, Pickens, died in a Marietta hospital at 5 p.m. Thursday.

He was a native of Pleasant Grove community, a son of the late William and Caroline Trotter Burgess. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Reaves Burgess; two daughters, Mrs. Earle L. Youngblood of Pickens and Mrs. C. E. Graddick of Greenville; a son, H. F. Reaves Jr. of the home; and a foster son, Dean Burgess of Pickens.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist church by the Rev. Robert Culbertson Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alvin and Woodrow Burgess, Lonnie Fortner, Rudolph McJunkin, P. N. Miller and M. L. Jones.

The body is at Clayton-Dillard Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
