Burl Lee Rowland, 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 9, 2021 in Largo, Florida. Burl was born in Smyth County, Virginia to the late Reeves Rowland and Myrtle Matheson Rowland. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Roland, TJ Rowland, and Rex Rowland; sons, Gary Lee Dempsey and Daniel Lee Rowland.
He was survived briefly by his wife, Carla Hawthorne Rowland, who followed him the next day; sisters, Geneva Pickle and Joanna Crockett (Tom); sons, Keith Rowland (Dana), Burl Rowland II (Brooke), Travis Rowland; daughters, Linda McConnell, Pat Hall (Ted), Fran Rowland, Sandra Sturgill, Tonya Hawthorne, and Tosha Hawthorne; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
