Jimmy Linnard Collins, Sr., 82, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was born April 27, 1939 in Nash County to the late George and Laura Hyde Collins. He loved his family, his country, and most of all his Lord. Jimmy was an avid sportsman in his younger years. In addition to his parents he was preceded by sons Jimmy Clifton and Jimmy L. Collins, Jr., and brother Jack A. Collins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years Nancy Collins; son George C. Collins, II. (Tasha); daughter Sonya Collins Strum (Ricky); brother Larry Collins; sisters Patsy A. Collins and Laurie Womble; sister-in- law Victoria Collins; grandchildren Haley Strum, Katie and Dominic, Shelby Mckenzie (Aaron), Laura, Jimmy L. Collins III (Lillian), and Daniel Collins (Mary); great-grandchild Sterling Collins; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service.
