Frank George "Babe" Edwards, 92, Holton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holton Cemetery.

Mr. Edwards died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998 at the Granvillas Retirement Center, Holton.

He was born Aug. 27, 1906, in rural Oskaloosa, the son of Harry Henry and Amanda Elliott Edwards. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1926 and received his license as a professional engineer on Oct. 28, 1955.

He worked for the Jefferson County Highway Department as a roadman, bridge foreman, superintendent of bridge and culvert construction, assistant county engineer, general superintendent and acting county engineer between 1926 and 1956. He worked for Heller Construction from 1956 to 1966. He then served as Valley Falls City Clerk from 1966 to 1973.

He married Gertrude Maude Alice Mulanax on May 12, 1928, in Topeka. She died Dec. 22, 1993.

Survivors include a son, Robert L., Topeka; a daughter, Alice Arlene Miller, Holton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
