DURANT βΉ Services for Walter M. Ash will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terrell Suggs officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Born Oct. 6, 1911, at Silo, he died Jan. 8, 1999, at Durant. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Bill, Leonard and Leroy.
Ash was a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church. He retired after 23 years as an operator with Consolidated Rock Plant in Orange, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hilburn Ash; one son, Dan, Rockwall, Texas; two daughters, Pat Thacker, Denison, Texas, and Mary Ducote, Mead; one brother, Milton, Madill; one sister, Lena Mayberry, Moab, Utah; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Paul Crawford, T.J. Crawford, Denise Bragg, Bill Trent, Wayne Trent and Jason Ash. Honorary bearers are Blake Ducote and Sandy Crawford.
