Edward Ifedayo Akinrinlola, Sr., age 63 years, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Hope Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island.

He was born in Ondo State, Nigeria on February 6, 1953. He was the son of the late Mrs. Omobolaji (Ogundumesi) Akinrinlola and the late Mr. Oyegenha Akinrinlola.

Edward spent ten months bravely battling esophageal cancer, with his children, Marilyn and Daniel Akinrinlola, supporting him during such a difficult time in his life. Edward lost his parents at a young age, and was raised by his grandmother. Edward also had an older sister.

Edward was a very ambitious man and made his way to the United States in the 1980s. He was able to settle in Rhode Island and start a beautiful family. He attended Providence College and received his BA in Education.

He was a teacher, a father, and a wonderful friend. There is no one on this earth like Edward. He stood by his children and supported them without fail. He was always available if they needed him for anything and made it his job to encourage them to be great people.

His passion for his children was evident and their love for him kept them by his side throughout his illness. There is nothing comparable to a father's love for his children and Edward loved his children intensely and profoundly.

Edward is survived by four children, Edward Jr, Michael, Daniel, and Marilyn, as well as many family and friends.

Rather than mourn, we want to celebrate Edward's life. He was an amazing man with a pure spirit and a massive heart. He was the definition of a gentle man and the most important male role model in his children's lives.

His Viewing was held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bell Funeral Home.

His Funeral Service was conducted on Saturday, Monday, May 2, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bell Funeral Home.

Arrangements entrusted to Bell Funeral Home, Providence, Rhode Island.
