Barbara "Gail" Margeson

My sister Jeanette's childhood friend for 63 years. Kindred spirits.

February 15, 1948 ~ February 18, 2022

Barbara "Gail" Margeson, age 74, passed away peacefully from a sudden illness, at the St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital, February 18, 2022 with her niece by her side. Gail was born February 15, 1948 in McMinnville, Tennessee. She lived and resided in Walling, Tennessee at the time of her passing. She lived in Rock Island, Tennessee for many years, prior to returning to Walling. She was a daughter of the late George Arnold, and the late Leatha 'Opal' Arnold Wood. Gail grew up and attended and graduated at Cassville School. She went on to attend college at Cookeville Tech for a short time.

She retired from Ben Lomand Telephone Cooperative after 40 years. She was a dedicated member at Gum Springs Baptist Church, since October, 1997. She loved the Lord with ALL of her heart and meekly served anywhere she was needed. Her favorite times were spent going out with the Senior Adults and events. After retiring she spent most of her time with her family and friends, traveling with a remarkable sense of direction, and memory, in which she joked with Jasmine about getting lost on their travels. Her biggest passion was genealogy research, that was her book of knowledge and memories.

Her favorite place in all of her adventures was Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The mountains drew her closer to God, knowing that her favorite beautiful place was His creation.

On the off chance that she had free time, she loved collecting dolls, playing Bunco with the church ladies, attending theatrical plays, and reading.

Survivors include her spouse John David Margeson, one sister Donna Rutledge and her husband William Rutledge all from White County, Tennessee. One niece Rochelle and her husband Rodney Mullins. One nephew Jeffrey and wife Carol Rutledge of Alabama. Two great nieces Jasmine and Hollie Mullins, and one great nephew Eric Rutledge. One step-son John David Margeson Jr., and three step grandchildren Matt, Ashley, and Thomas Margeson. Many cousins and their children that she loved very dearly also. Service will be at Thurman Funeral Home, with interment at Mount Pisgah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Gum Springs Baptist Church and Mt. Pisgah Cemetery to Darwin Gooch would be appreciated.
