Clyde "Brick" Sanders, 71, of St. Joseph, died Thursday night at a veterans hospital in Wadsworth after a lengthy illness. Born in Grant City, Mr. Sanders came to St. Joseph in 1950. He was a plumber at St. Joseph State Hospital, retiring in 1969 after 13 years of service. Prior to that he worked for the Grant City Water Co. and drove a truck there. Mr. Sanders was an Army veteran of World War II and was wounded in Germany. He was a former member of McDonald-Dugger-Duncan American Legion Post 11. He is survived by his wife, Irene G. Sanders; two stepdaughters, Sharon Elaine O'Dett and Karen Eileen Riley, both of St. Joseph; a sister Elva Bishop, Faucett; two brothers, Elvis Sanders, St. Joseph, and Lloyd Sanders, San Francisco, two step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Service arrangements are pending at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman chapel.
