Deacon John Oliver Green, Jr., age 49, of Richmond, formerly of Newport News, Va., died December 19, 2007. Surviving are his wife, Rev. Cheryl Ivey Green; father, John O. Green Sr. of Richmond; and mother, Rosetta L. Green of Suffolk, Va.; sister, Velma S. Green of Baltimore, Md.; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews; mother-in-law, Carnetta H. Ivey of Newport News, Va.; other relatives, and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends Wednesday, December 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, at First Baptist Church, 1501 Decatur St. Dr. Dwight C. Jones officiating. Interment will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Season of Change.
