Specialist 4 Gary R. Bryant of Greenville, South Carolina was killed in Vietnam while serving in the United States Army. 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry, 1st Armored Division. Gary is honored on Panel 4E, Row 87 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Posthumously promoted to Sgt.

This memorial is for Gary Ray Bryant Sr. At the time of his death both his parents were still alive. Since this memorial was created both his parents have died. At the time of this update he has living- A Son Gary Ray Bryant Jr and a Daughter Tammy Lynn Bryant. His son has one son Gary Ray Bryant III (Shanon) and his daughter has 3 daughters, Amanda Allen (Eddie), Brittany Bannister (Robert), and Morgan Clayton (Brandon). Of the grandchildren he has 12 Great Grand Daughters and 3 Great Grandsons. Although all but 1 of his living relatives never met him we all love him more than words can express and are so proud to be his family.

Gary Ray Bryant had enlisted in the Army. Entered via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. Start of tour or enlistment date was November 11, 1965. Bryant had the rank of Specialist Four. Service number was 14786654. Served with 1st Cav Division, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, A Company.
CASUALTY CIRCUMSTANCES
Bryant was reported missing and ultimately declared dead on January 25, 1966. Recorded circumstances attributed to: "Non-Hostile Died While Missing, Air Loss Crash - Land, Fixed Wing - Noncrew". Incident location: South Vietnam, Binh Dinh province, C-123 Crash At Deo Mang Pass.
