Rebecca Lorene Pace a long time resident of Jackson Mississippi passed away in a Baytown, Texas nursing home following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's on December 17, 2007. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Blvd. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Rebecca was born in Cheatham County Tennessee on November 3, 1924 to Sam and Effie Poole.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Wilson Pace, daughter Gail Pace Benton, grandson Jonathan Kyle Benton, and sisters Lucy Gupton, Helen Beasley, and Julia Lewis.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Sue Pace of Baytown, Texas. Grandchildren are: Brad Benton and wife Bridget of Madison, Mississippi, Sara Benton Whiddon and husband Taylor of Atlanta Georgia, Michael Pace and wife Leah of Spring, Texas, and 1st Lt. Stephen Pace USAF and wife Carolyn of Bellevue, Nebraska and Great Grand Children Wilson, Kyler, and Abi Alden Benton of Madison, Mississippi. She also has two surviving sisters, Irene Ledbetter of Nashville, Tennessee, Ruth Henley of Clarksville, Tennessee and brother-in-law Jesse Lewis of Murray, Kentucky.
