GORDON MONROE EDDINS, 87, of Orlando, FL - he was the son of George and Clara Mae Eddins. Gordon attended Pensacola High, graduated in 1951 and joined the U.S. Air Force and became an Avionics Technician. After 25 years of service, he retired as a Master Sergeant and resided in the Central Florida area. He went back to school at UCF, graduated with a master's degree in mathematics and began teaching at Orlando and Webster Vocational Schools until starting up the Electronics Department at Mid-Florida Tech until retiring from teaching. Gordon loved singing gospel and participating in VICA activities. He was an avid collector of many things and always had a thirst for knowledge. He also loved reunions with his cousins, family, and military family as well as being a faithful member of the Conway First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife or 62 years, Sara and children, Elana Lynn and Glenn Eddins, surviving are children, Lenida Cortez (David) and Laura Catapano; grandchildren, Jeffrey Eddins (Traci), Michael Eddins, Nikki Catapano, Dominic Catapano, James Beagan (Jesika), Richard Long (Makenzy), Timothy Chesteine II (Kearstyn) and Amanda Herman (Scott) and 11 great-grandchildren. as well as 11 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Conway First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida on December 13, 2021. Published by Orlando Sentinel December 8, 2021.
