WILSON - Graveside rites for Herbert J. Duncan, 68, will be at 10am Saturday at Hewitt Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Gillum officiating.

Duncan died May 15, 1997, in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1928, at Courtney, to Elizah L. and Livia J. Sadler Duncan.

Reared at Reck, he graduated from Zaneis school in 1949 and served with the Army during the Korean War. He moved to California in 1952 and married Edith L. Sorrells Aug. 18, 1952, at Dos Palos, Calif. He was employed by Owens Corning Manufacturing 28 years before he retired in 1989.

He was a former scoutmaster and neighborhood commissioner in the Boy Scouts of America, a Little League coach, a member of the Bottle Blowers Union and president of FSC Credit Union. He returned to Ardmore in 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife Aug. 24, 1995; a son, Douglas Gene, Feb. 23, 1995; and sister, Jane Doake.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Miller, of the home; a brother, Leo, Ardmore; five sisters, Christine Dalton, Santa Clara, Calif., Frances Murphy, San Jose, Calif., Madelyn Way, Wilson, Rachel Dunigan and Donna Palmer, Healdton; and a granddaughter.
