Cassie June "Meme" Mikeworth, 83, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.

Born on August 8, 1924, in Herrin, Illinois, she was the daughter of Shafter Flener and Gertrude (Phelps) Flener.

She worked as a beautician for many years; Motorola in Chicago, IL for several years; as a waitress at the Libertyville Tennis Club; and also was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Oblong. Her interests included reading her daily devotions-Bible studies; Chicago Cubs fan; watching Billy Graham on television; crocheting; traveling to Texas in motor home; and spending time with her grandchildren.

On July 1, 1972, she married Jackie Mikeworth, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David Mikeworth and Shawn Mikeworth; one daughter, Ann Sailors; mother-in-law, Norma Gail Mikeworth; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill & Loretta Mikeworth; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother J. V. Flener.

Burial is in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
