Resident of Kill Devil Hills, Dare County, North Carolina. Martha was born in Headrick, Oklahoma to the late Alva and Eula Mae STEPHENSON Jones on December 26, 1922.
She Married William E. Johnson on August 27, 1947 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, while he was serving U.S. Navy. From that union came 5 children. Marti, Rainie, Dennis, David and Gary. Martha considered her children her great accomplishment.
Martha is survived by her daughters Marti Simmons (Ernie), Rainie Sadler (Ed), sons Dennis Johnson (Vanessa) and Gary Johnson, 6 Grandchildren Lisa Sadler Unger (Derek), Derrek Johnson (Amy), Aaron Johnson (Laura), Scott Simmons (Ren), Meghan Sadler-Anthony (Mark) and Leah Simmons, 7 Great grandchildren. She is Preceded in death by her husband William and her son David.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial, Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She was a wonderful woman and brought sunshine and joy to everyone she met. She made the world a better place.
