Adventurer, son of Theodore Etienne, King of Corsica (q.v.). Wrote a notable 'Description of Corsica' which was a successful travel book. Involved in various shady dealings, claiming to be a Colonel, the representative in London of the Duke of Wurtemburg, and an agent of various financial dealings on behalf of the British Government and Royal Family. Committed suicide when his debts mounted beyond resolution.
