Obituary

Suddenly called to heaven on October 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 52 years to Jack Rampolla. Devoted mother of Lisa (Scott) Wolter and Aimee Rampolla. Cherished grandmother of Joelle Wolter. Profoundly missed by her sister Ginny Wheir. Dearest sister-in-law of Andy (Barbara) Rampolla, Terry (Richard) West and Tony (Kris) Rampolla. Further survived by nieces, nephews, "the cousins" as well as countless family and friends. Barb is preceded in death by her parents Eleanore and Warren Wick, her brother Paul Wick, and brother-in-law Don Wheir.

After graduating from Holy Angels High School, Barb pursued many passions over the years including cosmetology, caring for children, and working in the Wauwatosa School District. Barb filled her days with laughter she both created and reveled in, thanks to her wonderful family and life-long friends.

Barbara Marie Wick was born in Milwaukee on April 19th in a year that her daughters swore they would never disclose. The youngest daughter of Warren and Eleanore Wick, Barb grew up in Washington Highlands, attending St. Sebastian's grade school. A highlight of Barb's younger years was meeting Elvis Presley when he was filming Blue Hawaii during a year of traveling the United States with her family.

At five years old, Barb became friends with Mary Galligan Benson and the two of them would spend the next 70 years as best friends. An indispensable and awe-inspiring friendship that spanned their lives, Barb joined Mary for "a Coke and a smoke" 6 days prior to the year Mary passed away.

When she finished cosmetology school, Barb worked as a hairdresser at Carol Ann's Beauty Shop on Burleigh. She continued to share a variety of her styling talents long past her years at the beauty shop by turning a kitchen chair at her home into a place for anyone who wanted a new look!

Barb married Jack Rampolla in the same church she attended grade school and shared 52 love and laughter filled years raising two daughters with the Italian traditions of food, fun, hard work, enduring faith and heartfelt respect. Marrying into a large Italian family, Barb assimilated by working in the family business of event catering; to the extent of bringing her own mom into the work as well.
