GIRARD, JOSEPH F.
Entered into eternal rest on February 20, 2003, at home in West Sacramento, with his family around him. A native of San Francisco, age 82, he resided in West Sacramento for the past 51 years.
Joe was the beloved husband of Thelma, who preceded him in death.
Father of Jim (Maureen) and Terry (Chris). He was the devoted grandfather of Jimmy and Kelly Girard and Jason and Micah Girard. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Yvonne.
Joe was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marine. Joe worked for over 30 years as an optician and office manager, employed by Nicholas Optical Co. Joe most enjoyed any opportunity to be with his family and to share a good meal with them, often doing the cooking himself.
Memorial Mass and interment will be in St. Helena. Memorials are preferred to Kaiser Hospice, 2025 Morse Ave., Sacramento, CA 95825.
