Pete graduated in 1959 from Petoskey High School. He was active in Future Farmers of America, Tennis, and Football. Before he died, he specfically requested to be cremated and that his family not have a "fancy funeral" or write a formal obituary. His many friends and entire family deeply mourn his passing. His ashes were spread at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, Michigan and his name memoralized in stone along with his wife on November 11, 2021.

Pete and his wife Pat were married September 15, 1962, at St. Francis Church in Petoskey. Because of his love of sports, his widely known AMS Company, and his love of antique cars, Pete's circle of admiring friends were many and far reaching. He loved old cars and spent time traveling to local car shows and the Nats North event in Kalamazoo, Michigan for many summers. His last car was 1939 Buick sedan that many may remember as it was lilac in color.
