She was the ninth child and sixth daughter of Erzherzog (Archduke) Karl II, ruler of Inner Austria (Styria, Carniola, Carinthia and Gorizia) and his wife, Maria Anna of Bavaria. Together with her sister, Maria Christina, they took the veil in the Haller Damenstift (Haller Convent) in 1607. She died there and was buried in the Jesuitenkirche.
