Waymon Andrew Allen, age 39 passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee. Andy was born February 14, 1982 to James Steven Allen and Penny Kay Ashworth Allen.
He was a loving and extremely proud father to Conner Allen. He was a 20 year survivor of an unprecedented multi organ transplant at Duke University. The technology and medical advancements related to his transplant immediately led to Duke performing other transplants that before Andy's were considered too risky. Andy was a proud advocate for donor awareness. Andy's personality and sense of humor was one that stood out among everyone. His smile and kind heart is something people will remember the most about him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred Ashworth, Richard Ashworth, Gary Brooks; great grandparents, Waymon and Nola Cole; sister, Nicole Allen.
He is survived by his son, Connor Allen (Courtney Carr); grandparents, Virginia Cantrell, James Allen, Joyce Brooks; parents, Steve and Kim Allen, Penny Allen; brother, Michael (Candice) Allen, Stephen (Caly) Channell; sister, Brandi (Isabel) Allen; nieces and nephews, Reagan Verble, Tailor Cox, Kylie Cox, Logan Cox, Emmy Faye Allen, Cece Channell; Also, a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Honorary Pallbearers, Ben Dildine, Nick Slatten, Ryan Dillard, Stephen Channell, Michael Allen.
Memorial service will be at Doyle United Methodist Church. Thurman Funeral Home is Honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
