Troy Scott Traynham was born on August 14, 1962 to Elbert and Patricia Traynham at Newark Presbyterian Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. He leaves to treasure his memory his parents, his brother Todd V. Traynham (Vanessa) and sister Stacey L. Carpenter (Gregory) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. His life was cut short as he was protecting his girlfriend, Michele Swint, during a senseless act of crime.

Troy attended Linden High School in Linden, New Jersey. He served in the United States Navy in the Defensive Investigative Service. He attended New York Restaurant School and was an amazing chef at the Marriott Hotel and several other restaurants in New York and New Jersey.

Troy was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a leader, family man and dedicated Security Specialist. In 2019 he was appointed as a Constable for Essex County by the City of East Orange.

He attended Christ Church in Montclair, New Jersey and served friends and family with the love of Christ. He would always go out of his way to help others. He was charming, intelligent and loved to put a smile on someone's face.

His favorite pastime was the hobby of shooting firearms.

He will be deeply missed and cherished forever in our hearts.
