Carey Lee Davis Jr

Asheville - Carey Lee Davis Jr., 78, of 631 Macedonia Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge after a brief illness.

A native of Forsyth County, he lived all his life in Buncombe County and retired from WLOS TV and WRDW TV in Augusta, Ga. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Ingham Assoc. He was also a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He was a son of the late Carey Lee Davis Sr. and Emma Jean Ball Melton.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Wilson Davis of the home; daughter, Sandra Haynie and husband, Fred, of Marshall; granddaughter, Courtney Licklider and husband, Patrick, of Asheville; a niece and several cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Loftisofficiating.

Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
