Mrs. Mary Lou Ayanian, 78, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed peacefully on April 12, 2015. Born, October 6, 1936 in Fincastle, Virginia to Luther and Mary Elizabeth Haymaker (predeceased), Mrs. Ayanian graduated from James Madison University, College of Education, Class of 1959. She taught First grade for many years before opening her own business, The Green Spot Garden Center. She moved to Hilton Head Island in 2001 when her husband, Dr. Ara Ayanian (predeceased) retired from his veterinary practice in Linthicum, Maryland.
Mary Lou is survived by her 3 children, Cheryl Padilla of Alexandria, Virginia, Kevin (Mia) of Hughesville, Maryland and Lori Ann Madhok of Brookeville, MD. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren. She is also survived by her 3 loving brothers.
During her lifetime, Mary Lou enjoyed spending time with her family, long walks and collecting shark's teeth and seashells with her grandchildren on the beach in her beloved Hilton Head, gardening with the Hilton Head Garden Club, bowling, and playing golf with her many friends.
