Beverly Horton Adams, 83, of Corapeake, NC. passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. He was born on July 27, 1938 to the late Owie and Akra Adams. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Adams; and brothers, Jerry Adams and Bobby R. Adams.

Beverly was a retired sergeant in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam War in the 7th Calvary and 101st Airborne Division. Sergeant Adams fought in the Battle of la Drang Valley and was honored with a bronze star as a decoration of bravery. He was a solider who had the heart of a saint and the guts of Patton. Beverly was very giving to everyone and had a wonderful heart. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his siblings, Jean Perry Farmer, Glenda Dawson, Diane Stallworth, and Cynthia Moegenberg; step-children, Michael Benton and Mary Lou Benton; caregiver and nephew, Jeffrey Perry (Denise); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at R.W. Baker Funeral & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk, Va. 23434. Visitation will take place prior to the service at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A time of gathering will follow at the home of Cynthia Moegenberg, 1009 Pennsylvania Ave. Suffolk, Va. Online condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
