Allen L. McKeithan, 81, of Wilmington, NC died Friday, August 21, 2021 at his residence.

Allen L McKeithan, also known as Brother Mac, entered his eternal home on August 27, 2021, after a three week battle with Covid. He was surrounded by his family at home. He was born September 20, 1939 in Whiteville, NC to the late Loranzey McKeithan and Juanita Kaufman.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil McKeithan and a sister, LaWanda Mckeithan. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Marie Walton McKeithan, his children Gabrielle Waggoner, Nikki Spearman (Lee) and Dwain McKeithan (Meredith), fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, his siblings Louise Nance, Debra Fulcher (Darrell), Bobby McKeithan (Cheryl), Danny McKeithan (Tina) and a loving extended family.

Allen graduated from Topsail High School in 1957 and joined the US Navy. He served on four different ships (USS Roan, USS Corry, USS Lawrence, and USS America). He retired as a Chief Petty Officer after giving twenty-one years to his country.

In 1973 he made the most important decision of his life. He gave his life to Jesus Christ. A few years later he surrendered to the ministry. During his ministry he earned degrees from International Seminary of Plymouth, FL (Doctorate of Bible Theology), Florida Theological Seminary of Jacksonville, FL (Doctorate of Ministry) and Jacksonville Theological Seminary of Jacksonville, FL (Doctorate of Religious Education). His pastorates included Westside Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL, Northside Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC, First Baptist Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Victory Christian Fellowship in Rocky Point, NC.

He attended Cape Fear Free Will Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC. He loved God's Word and sharing it with others. He wanted everyone to experience the life changing grace of Jesus Christ. He loved his Lord, his family and his country deeply. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and birdwatching. His family was very precious to him. He will be missed by many.

Pastor Patrick Hall, Cape Fear Free Will Baptist Church
I've been pastoring in Wilmington for over 24 years. Started the church from scratch. Most of our members have been won to Christ here but sometimes we get "freebies". Faithful saints of God that didn't require a lot of work. A little while back a man and wife walked in on a Sunday morning. Stately couple. Found out he was a retired pastor from the area. 80 years old or so. We went to breakfast as pastors do and discussed doctrine and other stuff. Brother and Mrs. McKeithan became faithful members. He preaches for me when I am out of town. Recently helped me ordain another man to the ministry. Nothing but encouragement that only a former pastor and wife could give. We love them and their whole family. Quote from church Facebook page.
