He was a native of Appling County and lived in Savannah for-20 years before returning to Appling County in 1968. He was a member of Consolation Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from Operators Union Local No. 474. He was a truck driver and a business owner.
SURVIVORS his wife, Grace Allen of Baxley; a daughter, Cindy Allen Reynolds of Baxley; three sons, Steven, Phil, and Mark Allen, all of Baxley; his mother, Atha Bell Johnson of Baxley; two sisters, Patsy Ruth Aspinwall and Wry Ann Griffin, both of Odum; four brothers, Charles, Wilton and Russell Johnson all of Baxley, and Athur Jack Johnson of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren. and . a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swain-Funeral Home in Baxley, burial in Appling Memorial Gardens.
