Francis W. Bove, age 99, WW2 veteran, passed away on August 4,2021. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (nee Pope) Bove. Cherished father of the late Bill Bove , Nelson (Margie) Bove , Barb (Mike) Giblin and Jeanne Bove. Proud grandfather of David, Dan,and Tim Giblin, Adam Bove, Abby Gerdeman. Great grandfather of Henry, Michael, Bradley, Maggie, AJ, Eddie, Grace and Lachlan. Dear older brother of Jimmy and the late Tommy Bove. Francis (Frank) was one of America's "greatest generation". He proudly served his country from July 1942 -Sept 1945 through the Tunisian, Rome, S.France, & Rhineland campaigns. He was awarded the European African MidEastern service medal with 4 bronze stars & good conduct medal.. He was an XU graduate, retired from both RCA and Kenner Toy Co. He was a ham radio operator (W8SUF), a player piano and antique car enthusiast, & avid Reds fan. Visitation is Sunday August 15, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd. Norwood Oh 45212. Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10 AM All Saints Church, 8939 Montgomery Rd. Kenwood. Burial Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
