George Tyrannis Worley, 83, of Leicester, NC passed away July 19, 2021.

Mr. Worley was born May 23, 1938, the son of the late George Raby Worley and Artie Scott Worley. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Macie Scott (Alden Worley), Reva Ferguson, Wilma Worley, Sue Worley, Malinda Lusk, brother, Tom Worley (Katherine Worley), and one granddaughter, Keisha Marie Worley.

He worked in the Timber Industry for 54 years, and retired from WNC Pallet Company with 27 years of service. He restored many award winning cars and trucks, and enjoyed traveling in his 1951 Mack Motor Home.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth C. Worley; children, Georjeana Messer (Rick) and Dean Worley (Sherry); grandchildren, Kandace Worley (Bobby) and Breanna Worley; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to all the caregivers and to his good friend, Steve Clodfelter.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
