A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Brenham, Texas, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Kirk Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, Bryan.

Margaret was born in Mart, Texas, to the late Otto and Clara Hering. Her career had interesting turns including work in a World War II interment camp, nursing, student loan officer, florist, and bank teller. Her life took her across the country from the west to the east coast and many parts of Texas, but she always returned to Waco where she lived most of her life before moving to Kruse Village in 2005. While she enjoyed her work, her passion and great love in life was her family. She was a devoted wife and active participant in her children's lives serving as a leader in many of their activities. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Brenham. Margaret and her husband, Donald R. Oliver, celebrated their 57th anniversary on Nov. 6.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald; daughter, Penny King and husband, Clark, of College Station; son, Mark Oliver and wife, Pam, of Georgetown; grandsons, Rusty King and wife, Becky, of Austin, and Justin, Brandon, and Jordan Oliver; granddaughters, Lauren and Kristen Oliver; great-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Logan King; brother, Jerry Hering and wife, Maureen, of Austin; and many other relatives and friends.
