Cummins – At the home of her brother-in-law, Edward Seffens, in South Pueblo, Col., June 23, 1886, Miss Hattie, youngest daughter of George and H. D. Cummins, of Lubeck, W. Va., aged 24 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Her health had been poor for some time. On June 15th she and her sister Alice left Parkersburg for Colorado, hoping that a change in climate might improve it. Her remains were brought to her home, and now rest in the cemetery at Bethel, being interred on Saturday, the 27th at 2 P.M.

For about eight years she had been a most devoted Christian, and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Her last words were: "In the valley, The beautiful valley; In the valley!"
Her work is done, but her influence lives, and it is fully on the side of Christ. P.

Obituary from Parkersburg Newspaper, date unknown.

She died from tuberculosis.
