Edith M. Hood, age 87, of Federal Hill Manor, Bardstown died Monday, August 3, 1998 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was the widow of Donald B. Hood. Born January 8, 1911 in Marion County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Amelda Mattingly Whitehouse. She was a former teacher and homemaker and a member of the Deer Park Baptist Church in Louisville. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Joyce A. Wilcoxson, Louisville, Mrs. Gayle H. Thompson and her husband Paul Y. Thompson, Gainesville, FL; three brothers, Hudson, Henry and Paul Whitehouse; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Ellis of Gravel Switch, Mrs. Louise Lucas, Louisville and Mrs. Bernice May of Franklin, TN; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Graveside services were in Spring Hill Cemetery.
