Born in Sour Lake to Samuel Smith and Tullia Aline (Meyer) Adams, he worked at Gulf Oil and Texas Eastern until he retired. He had proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Lynda McMahon and her husband Bunky, Cheryl Louviere and her husband James and Betty Camp and her husband Shelby; seven grandchildren, Scott and Tyson McMahon, Jamey Glenn, Corey Louviere, Kissilyn, Shelby and Vudika Camp; and fifteen great grandchildren.
