Funeral services for Joy Anderson Busby, 95 of Oxford, will be on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Golden Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Roland Brown officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on the same day. Burial will be at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Busby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member at Golden Springs Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of the Friendship Community.

She was a Godly woman, faithful church member, and prayer warrior.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Edward Busby; her parents, Willie and Allie Anderson; sons in law, Macon Ray and Stanley Cheatwood; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Ray, Sherry (Jim) Pirkle, Mae Cheatwood; son, Charles (Anita) Busby; 8 grandchildren, Mont (Wendy) Pirkle, Casey (Corey) Humphries, Stacy Cheatwood Powell, Heath (Kathy) Ray, Bambi Ray Coogan, Autumn (Israel) Barraza, Holly Busby, Troy (Morgan) Busby; 6 great grandchildren, Haley (Will) Freeman, Mack Humphries, Emma Ray, Claire Humphries, Zach Ray, Luke Ray; great great grandchild, Axton Freeman, and a sister, Allie Stewart.

Pallbearers will be Mont Pirkle, Heath Ray, Troy Busby, Mack Humphries, Will Freeman, and Corey Humphries.

Honorary pallbearers will be Plemer East, Randy East, James Freeman, Zach Ray, and Luke Ray.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be given to Golden Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or Encompass Hospice of Oxford.

The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Michael Hanna, Encompass Hospice and caregiver, Teri Beasley.
