The son of Marina Tsvetaeva and Sergey Efron. Under the nickname Mur is one of the main persons mentioned in Tsvetaeva's diaries. Author of his own diaries.
Having been born in Czech Republic, moved further with his parents to France and in 1939 returned to the Soviet Union with his mother. His father and elder sister were arrested, father executed on October 16th, 1941. Georgy was evacuated together with his mother, Marina Tsvetaeva to Elabuga, Tatarstan, where his mother committed suicide on August 31st, 1941. Georgy returned to Moscow, then was evacuated to Tashkent where he finished school, and came back to Moscow where he entered the Literature Institute. But when turning 18 he was сalled into the Soviet Army, was heavily wounded during the battle at Belarus Front in 1944 and died. There is no exact information on the date of his death and the place of burial. There is a monument to him at the cemetry of Struneutschina village, the place where he was wounded but official sources say his remnants were moved to Braslau (regional centre), to the common grave of the Soviet soldiers. However, his name is not listed on that grave!
