Jerry Dale Phillips' homegoing was May 30, 2021, in Tampa FL at the age of 65. He was born in Tampa on May 17, 1956.

He graduated from Jefferson High School. Over his life he worked at Busch Gardens, Orange Groves, J.D. Hendry Paint Factory, and at Lake Magdalene Arms Apartments as an assistant in maintenance. Jerry stopped working when Pat needed more help caring for Leon. He did not find work after Leon's passing, but then his mom needed his help because of her health. He became her driver, he did her laundry, and whatever else was requested. He drove his sister, Peggy, and helped her more and more when her health was declining. For the past thirteen years like clockwork, he drove his friend, Bobbie Faucett, on Tuesdays and Fridays to stores, errands, and doctor appointments.

He enjoyed fishing, swimming, buying new gadgets, and his family, especially grandnephew, Hudson.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Pat Scheetz Tope; sister, Ava Lynette (Charles) DeCarlo; eight nieces and nephews; three grandnephews, two grandnieces; aunts and uncle, Dena & Dan Martin and Diane Scheetz; and many cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Peggy Roberts; loving stepfather and mentor, Leon Tope; and father, Ralph Phillips.
