Theresa Mary Martin, passed away peacefully at her home on May 9, 2021. She was born on August 4, 1935 in Perham, Minnesota to Ernest August and Grace Riddering. Terry spent her youth on a farm in Butler, Minnesota attending school from first through the eighth grade in a one-room schoolhouse. She attended St. Francis Academy for high school and then continued her education at St. Francis School of Nursing where she earned her diploma and became a Registered Nurse. During her time at nursing school, she worked at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. After Graduation, Terry got a job at Mount Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis. Terry became tired of the cold Minnesota winters and one day, after hearing the temperature in Arizona, decided she was ready for a change. She moved to Globe, Arizona in 1956 and began a job at the old Gila General Hospital.

Terry married Butch Martin on February 12, 1958 and together they had three children; Mark, Carol, and Scott. Also included in the family were Barry and Paul Martin. Terry continued working in the hospital throughout the years until she took a job with Globe Schools as an elementary school nurse. She loved her job and being around the students of East Globe, Noftsger Hill, and Central School. She worked for the school for many years and then decided on another change and went to work at the Gila County Health Dept. Terry made many friends over the years in her nursing profession and was happy in each of her jobs. When Terry retired, she commented on how much she missed being a nurse, but was also happy to be at home with Butch.

Terry enjoyed embroidering, sewing, reading, working in her yard, and doing Sudoku puzzles, in which she was a master at. She used to love going for walks with her sister Marty and the two of them could be seen walking all over Globe every day. Terry stayed active and would attend strength and stretch class. When Terry's eyesight started to fail, and she was no longer able to do some of her favorite activities she just found new ones to do. In all her life, Terry was always busy. She loved being around her family and friends and will most certainly be missed by all.

Terry is survived by her children Carol Bradford (Jack) of Globe and Scott (Erin) of Gilbert, daughter-in-law Sherry Martin of Texas, 7 grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, her nephews and nieces, her dear friends and neighbors Mary and Dave Kohlmann, and her cat Maggie. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Butch Martin, her son Mark, her step-sons Barry and Paul, step-grandson P.J., her parents Ernest and Grace, brothers Ted, John, and Ben, sisters, Marty, Rita, Johana, and Mary.

Her family will forever be grateful for her quiet strength and feisty attitude!

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Globe, AZ
