Sara V. Boada, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 2, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Hernando Boada. Mother of 4 children. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Boada was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia and was a resident of the New Orleans area since 1954. Mrs. Boada was retired from Ochsner Hospital and Clinic and volunteered for many years there after she retired. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for over 30 years, a member of the St. Jude Society, a volunteer for Associated Catholic Charities, Second Glance and was also involved with the Mike Miley Golden Agers, was a member of the AARP Chapter 2624, a former member of the Lakeside Lioness Club and a member of the Volunteer Ladies of Colombia. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Tuesday evening, September 6, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Wednesday morning, September 7, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mrs. Boada's memory to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
